Ewęhawas is a full-spectrum Indigenous doula who weaves her rich heritage, extensive skills, and profound teachings into her practice, offering holistic support to Indigenous families. With a lifelong immersion in the world of birth, thanks to her mother Laurie Jacobs, an Indigenous midwife, Ewęhawas embodies a deep connection to the birthing process and her community.

As an active member of Six Nations of the Grand River, Ewęhawas has cultivated strong community ties that enhance her support for families. Over the past year, she has dedicated herself to providing unwavering care during pregnancies, births, and the postpartum period. Her goal of becoming an Indigenous midwife underscores her commitment to deepening her ability to serve Indigenous families.

Ewęhawas’ approach can be likened to the braiding of three strands: the wisdom passed down from her mother, her personal experience and skills, and her devotion to community support. Together, these elements create a resilient and nurturing foundation for the families she serves, ensuring they feel embraced and empowered throughout their journeys.
