Lenora Naranjo-Morse • Wha Povi
Kha’ P’o Owenge | Santa Clara Pueblo | New Mexico
Listen in on Nora Naranjo Morse’s heartbreaking and empowering journey as she tells the story of what it was like to make a public piece of art for the City of Albuquerque. Nora was invited to join two other artists to create something meaningful to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the founding of New Mexico by Don Juan Oñate. After deliberation among the artists, city officials, members of cultural institutions, and citizens from the pueblos, the artists decided to create two pieces – one the first two artists had envisioned and another that Nora would create in celebration of Don Juan Oñate.
